BIBLE BAND MINISTRY

Our purpose is to study the Bible so that we may grow spiritually in order to win souls for Christ. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2: 15

BULLETIN MINISTRY

This ministry is responsible for preparing and assembling weekly bulletins and inserts for Sunday services.

​

CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRY    

True Light offers a comprehensive program for our children and youth, that is designed to help them mature in the Word of God. It is the intent of this ministry to equip children with the necessary tools to live a life of holiness; a life that is pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Proverbs 22: 6 reads, “Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

The Children and Youth Ministry is designed to bring together our children and teenagers for fellowship, peer identity, group interaction and activities.  This ministry functions as an extension of our adult ministries and are designed to help prepare our youth for service within the church, and evangelism outside of the church. Other ministries that fall under this umbrella include Children’s Choir, Jr. Deacons, Jr. Ushers, Youth Praise Dancers, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY

True Light believes in the supremacy of Scripture and the necessity of equipping believers to “rightly divide the word of truth.” Our Christian Education Ministry is designed to teach new members the doctrinal principles of what we believe in the Baptist faith and to strengthen the faith of seasoned believers through a right relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our purpose to train and empower spiritually mature teachers, leaders, and members in the core fundamentals of the Christian faith. The Bible Study, Sunday School, Brotherhood, and Bible Band are integral parts of the Christian Education Ministry.

CLEANING MINISTRY

The Cleaning Ministry is a very important area of service. When we consider that the purpose of any ministry is to bring glory and honor to God, we give Him our best. We want this building to be a blessing to God and to all who worship here. Serving on this ministry team is an opportunity to fellowship with others as well as with the Lord.

CULINARY MINISTRY

The Culinary Ministry consists of individuals who are skilled in the culinary arts. The committee provides nutritious meals for special events and services.

DEACONS MINISTRY

The deacons are appointed by the pastor as lay assistants to the Pastor. Their function is to assist the Pastor in the administering of the ecclesiastical matters of the church. Their purpose is to serve Christ, the church, and the pastor. Working in conjunction with the pastor and not independently of him. Deacons should be watchful guardians of the purity and good order of the church and its membership. Effective deacon leadership is essential to creative patterns of lay ministry, to the quality of a church’s worship, covenantal relationships that ties a church together, to the moral and spiritual tone that a church sets, and to the successful completion of a church’s overall tasks.

For they that have used the office of a deacon will purchase themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith, which is in Christ Jesus. I Timothy 3:13.

DEACONESS & MINISTER’S WIVES MINISTRY

Being led by the Holy Spirit, this ministry is charged with the duty of ministering in special capacities as deemed by our pastor. We work together in Christian love and fellowship for the betterment of the church. Members are to be Christian examples for the young women of the church. We are to prepare and make ready the candidates for baptism; prepare the bread, linens, and the table for the Lord’s Supper.  Deaconess also minister alongside the deacons when it comes to administering communion to shut-in members whether in homes, hospitals, or care facilities. Members of this ministry are to exhibit the love of Christ wherever we go.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Our purpose is to assist our graduating high school students. This assistance comes in the form of a financial scholarship and educational information, which will empower them in their quest for higher education.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shall be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4:6

​FOOD & CLOTHING PANTRY

Our purpose is to assist those who are less fortunate and those who, because of unusual circumstances, are without food or clothing. We supply the basic necessities with the goal of supplying spiritual food and clothing as well. Our motto is ‘Helping others to help themselves when the need arises.’

​GREETERS MINISTRY

The Greeters Ministry is designed to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere to all, especially our first-time visitors and guests. Our ministry is an organized way to help visitors and members feel welcome when they enter into the house of the Lord.

JUNIOR DEACONS — YOUNG AMBASSADORS

Through observation and training, the Junior Deacons become aware of the important role that men have been given according to the Word of God. This would apply to leadership and responsibilities in handling church business from a Godly respective. The Junior Deacons is responsible for offering service on Youth Sundays, the second Sunday of each month.

MEN’S MINISTRY – Brotherhood

God has ordained men to be leaders in the home, in the church, and in the world (Gen.
1:26). In order to be effective leaders, we must be taught. Through this teaching, we as united Christian Brothers, learn more about ourselves, about life, about our place in the world, and about Christ. Through bible discussion and prayer, we are committed to developing a rich Christian fellowship. We are committed to spreading our knowledge about Christ when we meet in the homes of the sick and the shut-in.

The Men’s Ministry, called “The Men in Action” operates to help our men learn how to be Godly men, unashamed of their divine calling. It is comprised of bi-weekly Bible study which teaches the men of True Light how to be pastors in their own homes, leaders in the church, and Godly husbands and fathers. Ephesians 5:25 and 6:4 reads, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it”. – And, “Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”. We believe that God set things in perfect order when He designated that men are to be leaders guided by the Holy Ghost.

Our Brotherhood Motto is: “Teach the word in the home with a consecrated heart. Following the footsteps of Jesus leading all men to God.”

MISSION MINISTRY

The Mission Ministry is comprised of spirit-filled church members sharing the responsibilities of ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of the church and non-church members, going forth as laborers for the Lord. We actively seek to unite all women of the church family in becoming involved in winning souls for Christ. We do this by stimulating growth through bible study, witnessing, and developing leadership qualities.

We fellowship through participation in mission circles and mission workshops. In addition to learning how to be Godly women and how to serve in the ministries of the church, the mission ministry has many outreach activities that include feeding and clothing the homeless, visiting and worshiping with the sick and shut-in, and ministering to women in our church and community.

Titus 2:3-4 reads, “The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things: that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.”

Our motto:” I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4

MUSIC MINISTRY

The music ministry is established for the sole purpose of rendering songs of praise and adoration to God during all worship and fellowship assemblies of the church. The music ministry at True Light is vital in leading the congregation into praise and worship. We also believe that what we sing must be doctrinally cohesive with what the scripture teaches. Psalm 149: 1 reads, “Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.” Members of the music ministry MUST be active in the Christian Education Ministry to ensure clear direction in why and what we sing. Our music consists of the Praise & Worship Team, Unity Choir, Senior Choir, God’s Holy Ghost Praise Choir, Male Chorus, and Youth Choir.

​NURSE'S MINISTRY

The Nurse’s Ministry was established to render medical and medicinal attention to individuals during worship and ministry assemblage.

​

PARKING LOT & SECURITY MINISTRY

This ministry maintains control of traffic and parking, while at the same time, providing a safe and secure environment for the members and guests of True Light.

​PASTOR’S AIDES

This ministry is responsible for providing love, encouragement, prayer, and support for the pastor and his family.

​

PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY

The Praise Dance Ministry is open to youth girls and young women for instruction in the art of dance-for-worship and ministers to the heart of the congregation.

​

PRAYER WARRIORS MINISTRY

Our Prayer Warriors earnestly lift our members and others in prayer, asking the Lord to release the troubles, pain, and sorrow from their lives. They positively pray with all supplication, endlessly and tirelessly, to bring strength, endurance, patience, understanding, and hope to all others, unconditionally. It is their desire to aid them through prayer to find peace, joy, and freedom, and, also, be lifted in His Light and Love.

R.E.A.C.H. WOMEN’S MINISTRY — Right Encounter Applying Christ-like Help

This ministry is responsible for promoting the discipleship, fellowship, and service of our young women.​

SENIOR RECREATIONAL MINISTRY

The goal of this ministry is to develop a recreation program that will enhance the mental, physical, and spiritual development of everyone’s needs, as they are surrounded by a Christian environment.

SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY

This ministry’s goal is to transform lives by the renewing of minds in part through the effective teachings of the Word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15 read, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

USHERS MINISTRY

True Light Usher Ministry is comprised of Bible-studying believers who know the importance of sharing the love of Jesus Christ as they usher the masses into the worship service. Psalm 84:10 reads, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” This ministry is structured to “set the tone” and lead people into a place of worship, in the spirit of praise.

The Transportation Ministry provides your transportation needs, to and from worship services.

​WOMEN’S MINISTRY

The Women’s Ministry has been established to inspire fellowship among the women of the church and to encourage participation in women’s conferences, seminars, and institutes associated with the church.

 

​YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

This ministry is committed to inspire, encourage, and empower young adults to grow in their Christian faith by providing a safe, positive environment to build Christ-centered relationships and mature in the Word.​
